What Headlight Bulbs Size Does a Ford F-150 Take?
The Ford F-150 was first introduced in 1975. Since then, it has grown to become the best-selling truck in the U.S. It has also undergone tremendous improvements, especially with its lighting technology.
High and Low Beam Headlights
Between 1987 and 1991, Ford fitted the F-150 with the 9004 bulb for both of its high and low beam functions. This changed to the 9007 bulb for models made between 1992 and 2003. The H13 bulb was then adopted for trucks built between 2004 and 2014.
It was not until 2015 that the car manufacturer decided to give each of the two functions a different bulb. The 2015-2021 F-150 comes with a H11 bulb for its low beam headlight and the 9005 bulb for its high beam headlight. The 2022 model year uses the 9005 bulb for both.
Front Fog Lights
The 1987-1991 F-150 did not feature any front fog lights. Ford introduced the function in 1992 with the H3, 9006, H10, and H1 bulbs. These were fitted in models built until 2003. The 2014 model settled on the H10 bulb, which has been in use since. It’s good to note that the H10 is identical to the 9140 bulb.
Turn Signal and Tail Lights
